On the slopes of Tibidabo, at Plaça del Doctor Andreu and next to the starting point of the funicular railway, you will find Mirablau, one of Barcelona’s classic venues. A restaurant that has been part of the city’s landscape for years, with its main attraction literally at its feet: spectacular panoramic views stretching across Barcelona and the Mediterranean.

From its terraces, you can take in much of the city, from the urban skyline all the way to the sea. On exceptionally clear days, the horizon stretches even further, making a visit to Mirablau an opportunity to discover Barcelona from a completely different perspective.

But Mirablau is much more than its views. Throughout the day, the venue changes its pace and atmosphere, combining a restaurant, terrace and drinks area with a nightlife offering that keeps the experience going well into the early hours.

The spaces

Mirablau has a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing you to enjoy the venue at different times of the day. Its terraces are undoubtedly one of its main attractions. Here, the views take centre stage, whether you are sitting down for breakfast or looking for somewhere to enjoy a drink at sunset.

During the day, the atmosphere is relaxed, with a Mediterranean-inspired cuisine combining tapas, small plates and dishes to share. It is a place for a meal, but also for lingering over lunch while Barcelona gradually changes colour.

One of the most special corners is El Balconet del Mirablau, a privileged spot from which to enjoy the city from above. A good drink, something to eat and Barcelona stretching out in front of you make this one of the restaurant’s most appealing spaces.

As night falls, Mirablau changes its pace. From 11:30 pm onwards, its Club & Disco concept takes over, with music and a lively nightlife atmosphere. The venue becomes a meeting point for those who want to extend dinner and continue the evening with drinks and music.

Gastronomy: Quality food with a view

Mirablau’s cuisine focuses on Mediterranean flavours, with a varied menu that works equally well for sharing several dishes or sitting down to enjoy a more complete meal.

Among its offerings are classics such as fried eggs with ham and foie gras, steak tartare brioche with egg-yolk emulsion, and fried calamari and prawns with yuzu mayonnaise.

The menu also includes options such as beef carpaccio with Parmesan and rocket, burrata with sun-dried tomatoes, tomato jam and pine nuts, and spicy garlic prawns, dishes designed to be shared and enjoyed without too much formality.

For main courses, there are dishes such as grilled octopus with potato parmentier, Pimentón de la Vera smoked paprika and extra virgin olive oil, oven-baked salmon with a citrus and ginger sauce and blanched broccoli, and a creamy risotto with Catalan butifarra sausage and caramelised onion.

The result is a varied menu that combines Mediterranean cuisine and quality ingredients, with dishes that work well for both lunch and dinner.

Why visit?

Mirablau is an option for anyone looking to combine food, views and atmosphere in one place. Its elevated location on the slopes of Tibidabo offers one of the city’s most distinctive perspectives, while its menu ranges from Mediterranean cuisine to a more informal selection of tapas and small plates.

Its changing character also means that the experience depends on when you visit: breakfast with a view, lunch, an afternoon of tapas, drinks at sunset or dinner that can continue with music and nightlife.

A Barcelona classic worth discovering, especially when the plan is to enjoy the city without rushing, with a good meal and a spectacular view in front of you.
