With over 40 years of history, El Torreón has established itself as a culinary landmark in Gavà Mar, just a few steps from the beach. Since 2007, it has been part of the Grupo Iborra, which also includes iconic restaurants such as Elche and Cheriff. The restaurant is housed in a single-story building designed by renowned architect Francesc Mitjans, best known for designing the Camp Nou. One of its standout features is its spacious garden terrace, surrounded by pine trees, offering a natural and welcoming setting that’s ideal for enjoying Mediterranean cuisine.

Cuisine and Specialties

El Torreón’s culinary offering is based on a broad and carefully curated menu, focused on Mediterranean and Catalan cuisine, with a special emphasis on rice dishes, seafood, and top-quality fish. As early as the 1970s, the restaurant was a pioneer in offering a wide selection of rice dishes throughout the week—something quite uncommon at the time.

Some of the most popular dishes include:

  • Rice cooked in seafood broth, served with lobster
  • Black rice from Elx with squid, artichokes, and homemade aioli
  • Various types of paella
  • Cod with honey and glazed potato
  • Fresh fish selections

The menu is complemented by excellent tapas and half portions, traditional meats, and a select wine cellar featuring more than 88 wine references.

Atmosphere

The garden terrace, surrounded by pine trees and bathed in natural light, makes El Torreón the perfect spot for a peaceful meal—whether as a couple, with family, or for a business lunch. The surroundings evoke a sense of calm that’s hard to find so close to the city, and this is reflected in the relaxed pace of service and the tranquil atmosphere throughout the restaurant.
