The magnitude of the Catalan wine sector will be very present at Barcelona Wine Week, the international wine competition in southern Europe, which will take place in Barcelona from 4 to 6 April 2022 at Fira Barcelona, ​​in Montjuic. This is the second edition of this professional wine fair that will bring together wineries from all over Spain.

The Department of Food, Climate Action and Rural Agenda, through INCAVI and Prodeca, has organized the Catalan participation in this fair and the organization of activities through the agri-food brand "Catalonia, where the wine is culture”. The fairgrounds will have two spaces: the BWW Lands area, with the wineries arranged by Denominations of Origin, where the participation of 210 Catalan wineries is supported , and the BWW Brands, with the emblematic brands, as well as companies of equipment, accessories and services to the sector. The presence of international buyers is expected, mainly from the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as distribution, hospitality and trade professionals from the state.

Barcelona Wine Week will also be the venue for the awards ceremony. On the one hand, the awards of the Barcelona Rosé International Bubble Awards will be presented on Tuesday 5 at 6 pm and the general director of INCAVI, Alba Balcells, will present the award to the Best Catalan Rosé Sparkling Wine; and on Wednesday 6, at 4 pm, the awards of the Wine Guide of La Vanguardia , where Balcells will present the awards to the Characters of the Year.

In parallel to Barcelona Wine Week, INCAVI supports two important activities such as the G-Night, the great Grenache festival organized by the Terra de Grenache Association, on Tuesday 5 April in the evening, at the Palau Robert from Barcelona, ​​where Catalan wineries and from all over the world will taste wines made with Grenache in an event with live music. On the other hand, INCAVI also supports the tasting organized by the Mujeres del Vino collective at the Palau de Pedralbes which will take place on Wednesday 6 in the afternoon with the presence of Councilor Teresa Jordà. You will be able to taste wines made by 35 women who are in charge of wineries, 20 of which are from our country, and an influx of about 350 people is expected.
